In terms of a new baby, purchasing a pushchair is one of the more significant decisions you will be making. If you make a good decision, it can make your life as a parent easier, however, if you choose a stroller or pushchair for the wrong reasons, it can make your life much more difficult. In fact, it is likely you will not use that pushchair and go out and buy another.

I have spoken with a number of parents who have made exactly this mistake and then ended up owning two or even more pushchairs. Why? – because stroller, pushchairs and buggies come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. As a parent, indeed as a parent purchasing a stroller for the very first time, it is easy to make your acquisition for the wrong reasons – as you don’t yet understand the most essential factors when making that purchase.

When taking a baby or toddler outdoors, in a stroller, buggy or pushchair, you will quickly realize that you will need to have so many other items with you – spare clothing, bottles, nappies and food. Furthermore, you won’t be able to carry shopping while you are pushing your stroller, so you want to be able to store shopping on your pushchair.

You are probably realizing that all of this is going to be adding weight, and you are right. The combined weight of the baby, stroller, shopping, food, clothes and everything else will become quite significant.

As the weight keeps adding up you will sacrifice maneuverability, and shopping can start to become really challenging. Imagine you are fighting your way around a hectic store with narrow aisles and you’ll begin to realize that when it comes to shopping, it can be really important to have a lightweight buggy.

There are a lot of circumstances where there are other factors that must also be taken into account and weight is not as important. Purchasing a stroller, pushchair or buggy is not a simple decision and deserves much consideration and thought.
